1. Optimize Your Facebook Business Page
Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for potential clients to find your business through social media. That is why it is so important to not only have a business page on Facebook, but to make sure your business page is optimized and consistent with your brand.
One of the best ways to optimize your Facebook business page is to verify your page (you can read our step-by-guide here!). This one little trick will actually help to boost your organic presence on Facebook and gives more authority to your page.
A few other pieces of your page to keep in mind are adding a Call to Action, creating a branded cover photo (we recommend Canva for this!), and asking for reviews from your previous clients.
2. Post More Video Content + Use Facebook Live
Content is no longer king – video is.
To put it simply, Facebook loves video. With the introduction of video ads and Facebook live, there are now even more ways to share videos on Facebook.
One tip here is to upload your videos directly to Facebook (instead of linking to your YouTube or Vimeo video). According to a recent study, native Facebook videos are shared more than 1000% more than videos that are linked from other sites and these videos receive a 186% higher engagement rate.
Videos in general have higher engagement rates than standard text or even posts with images, which can have a huge impact on your organic reach on Facebook.
3. Be Strategic + Selective with Your Facebook Posts
Why is engagement so important? Because it’s one of the biggest factors in Facebook’s algorithm.
As you probably know, Facebook and Instagram have both changed their algorithms from sequentially showing all posts to showing a small percentage of what you could be seeing. How they determine which posts you see depends on quite a few factors, of which engagement is a biggie.
This means that your per post engagement matters more now than the number of posts. So instead of worrying about posting X number of times per day, we’d recommend you focus on posting high-quality, share-worthy content.
A tip to boost your organic presence with your posts is to encourage people to engage with your page and posts. An example of this would be if you were to share an image of the wedding that you shot over the weekend, you could ask a question related to the image. So if you are sharing an image of a mother helping her daughter into her dress and your caption is something along the lines of “This is always one of my favorite moments of the entire wedding! What is your favorite wedding moment?”
