From administrative chaos to streamlined success: A social media strategist’s transformation.

Before HoneyBook Awards winner WheretoGeaux225 was a thriving social media agency, it was just a casual Instagram account that Jordan Basham created to highlight her favorite spots and small businesses around Baton Rouge.
Even as her own business has grown, Jordan’s always stayed true to her passion for small businesses–not only in helping them find more traction on social media, but also by offering accessible services with their best interests at heart.
Above all, Jordan prioritizes community. Her client relationships are front and center in her work, and WheretoGeaux225 isn’t about taking and transacting. Instead, it’s about intentionally supporting and elevating local businesses.“My mission is simple: to uplift the place I call home and help others fall in love with it too,” said Jordan.
With a business built on relationships, HoneyBook gives Jordan the systems and time back to nurture her clients and grow those connections. So much so that Jordan’s been able to save 10 hours a week using HoneyBook and has grown her business to six-figures in a year and a half.
Here’s how she made it happen.
An unexpected path to entrepreneurship
Jordan began her career at marketing agencies in Baton Rouge, where she noticed that small businesses lacked access to the support they needed. Most agency clients had bigger budgets, leaving a clear gap for local restaurants and small shops.
“I kept getting frustrated seeing smaller businesses that were just trying to get their bills paid but couldn’t get the exposure they needed,” she said.
While she was working full-time, COVID hit, causing even more challenges for the small business community. When many businesses were struggling to stay open, she launched the WheretoGeaux225 Instagram account to show them some love during such a difficult time.
“What started as a way to share my favorite spots with friends grew into a trusted resource for thousands looking to explore the heart of our community,” she said.
While she didn’t realize it at the time, this small but mighty social media account would soon open up a new opportunity. As she began posting more, the businesses she featured started gaining more and more traction, all thanks to Jordan’s work.
“The moment I knew this was the right path was when a small restaurant messaged me after I posted about them,” she said. “They said they had a line out the door for the first time in months!”
Word spread, and businesses began asking Jordan for one-on-one support. They saw the engagement that could happen from one post, so they were eager to hand the reins over to her for comprehensive social media management.
Her approach focuses on elevating brands through social storytelling while keeping the community at the center.
“In an industry that can feel curated and transactional, I lead with heart,” she said. “I treat this work like a relationship, not just a brand, and that’s what keeps people coming back.”
Streamlining her business with HoneyBook
Even with a recognizable brand and a growing client list, Jordan still faced the unique challenges of business ownership. Jordan found herself balancing all of the admin work that was piling up. She was managing invoices in Word docs, tracking payments manually, and juggling endless emails.
“One of the best decisions I made was implementing HoneyBook”
Wearing all the hats–from strategist to photographer to accountant–was a lot, to say the least. So when she found HoneyBook, it made a world of difference.
“One of the best decisions I made was implementing HoneyBook,” she said. “It’s taken away the brunt of the work in figuring out a system that works for me.”
After testing different tech stacks with software like Trello and Asana, she landed on HoneyBook because it offered everything in one place and streamlined every part of her client journey.
Here’s how.
Simplifying proposals and booking
With HoneyBook, Jordan ditched Word doc invoices for branded, interactive proposal templates.
Clients now receive a personalized note, a clear overview of packages, and the option to select add-ons like influencer management and social audits. From there, the contract and invoice follow seamlessly—allowing clients to sign and pay in one file without the back-and-forth.
“The templates made a world of difference for me.”
Her proposals are high-impact with minimal effort. HoneyBook templates made it simple to customize and launch a process that feels polished from the start.
“The templates make a world of difference for me, and they also offer enough flexibility for clients to be able to review and select their services,” Jordan said.
With more than 30 active clients, templates have become essential for saving time, staying organized, and delivering a streamlined client experience.
Taking work off her plate with HoneyBook automations
While templates saved hours, HoneyBook automations made an even bigger impact.
“I used to review every single invoice that went out and hand-wrote all of my messages to clients, but I’ve learned that I can’t do every single thing,” Jordan said.
Now, HoneyBook automates responses to new inquiries, schedules discovery calls, and sends proposals to qualified leads. Contracts, invoices, and payment reminders go out automatically, giving Jordan more time to connect with clients on content and strategy.
“Being able to automate the invoicing process has just made the customer connection so much better.”
Instead of worrying about her clients’ invoices, Jordan can spend time communicating with them about their social media content, further strengthening those relationships.
“Being able to automate the invoicing process has just made the customer connection so much better,” she said. “It’s given me the structure I needed to elevate my brand and build systems that help me support the community I love.”
The HoneyBook impact:
- 10 hours saved each week
- Reached six figures in revenue in less than a year
- More time to focus on what really matters—client relationships and building her business
Currently, Jordan is the only full-time employee at WheretoGeaux225, though she has a handful of freelance content creators she works with regularly. That means all the back-end and client-facing work still falls on her shoulders, and HoneyBook makes it possible for her to manage it all.
“HoneyBook has made keeping track of income and invoices so much easier,” she said. “It’s saved me as an employer and as a business owner.”
“I don’t even have to wonder if somebody’s invoice has gone out,” she continued. “It’s given me time back to focus on the whole reason I started this business–to focus on my community and connect people through meaningful storytelling.”
What’s next for Jordan and WheretoGeaux225
As her agency continues to grow, Jordan is focused on refining her processes and scaling sustainably with HoneyBook.
“Sometimes having too many systems is more hurtful than helpful, so growing with HoneyBook is the goal,” she said.
Outside of her business, Jordan is using her free time to pour back into the Baton Rouge community in other ways. She serves on the board of several local nonprofits, where she helps mentor and build opportunities for young professionals in the area.
“Consistent growth is exciting, but I want it to last,” Jordan said. “And I believe HoneyBook will be key to helping me get there.”
